I’ve been practicing yoga since 1994, and began my teacher training in 2003. For the last 15 years, I have immersed myself in the practice and study of yoga. From the first class I attended, age 16, I was acutely aware of the deep sense of calm and wellbeing that yoga elicits.
Yoga offers me a way to nurture my physical, emotional, and mental health, and I aim to ensure that all my students experience the same benefits.
My personal practice is a blend of classical Hatha Yoga, Iyengar Yoga, Ashtanga Yoga, and Kundalini Yoga, and I weave all of these threads into the way I teach.
I chose to call my classes ‘Lucid’ because they are clearly explained, so you’ll always know what you’re doing and understand why. ‘Lucid’ also means ‘shiny and bright’, and that’s exactly how I expect you to feel after coming to practice under my guidance.
My classes and workshops are designed for you to find your individual practice within the group, and I will support you to open your heart, calm your mind, and love your body.
Every Lucid Yoga & Therapy class includes:
Mindfulness & Relaxation
Breath Awareness & Practices
Classes in Southsea
As of January 2019, you’ll be welcomed to my yoga classes in the light, peaceful space above Aristia on the eclectic Albert Road in the heart of Southsea. Find out more about Aristia here.
As a teacher, I have taught in my own studio, in schools, at the Om Yoga Show, and, also in 2019, I will be teaching yoga at the first public Twisted Village festival.
Through my Birthlight & Yoga Therapy studies, I have discovered a special interest in working with yoga as therapy for women, and for stress, anxiety, depression, and chronic physical and mental health conditions.
This in turn led me to begin running retreats with my friend and colleague Lisa Pascoe. Together we run Women Rewilding, offering deeply restful and replenishing weekend retreats for women to gather, share stories, practice yoga, spend time in nature, and heal mind, body, and soul.
As a Raynor Massage Therapist, I offer holistic deep tissue massage.
Raynor Massage is a system of bodywork developed by naturopath Brandon Raynor, with roots in Ayurvedic Massage, Chinese Medicine, reflexology, Shiatsu, and yoga breath work.
It is a deeply healing and therapeutic massage to release tension in the physical body and includes the hands, feet, face, head, and abdomen — areas often neglected in other deep tissue systems.
As an Insomnia Practitioner, I am dedicated to providing effective Sleep Therapy to help you find better sleep and sweeter dreams.
I offer individual sessions to look at your personal sleep habits and sleep problems, as well as group sessions aimed at a more general approach to finding healthier sleep.
